Welcome to

noun  /ˈæd·vent/

1 The arrival or appearance of a long-awaited person, thing, or event.

2 The first season of the liturgical calendar. A time of prayer and fasting during the four weeks leading up to Christmas, during which Christians remember Christ's first coming and look forward to his second.

Welcome! I'm Aaron Bueltmann, the pastor of Advent Lutheran Church of Harford County, Maryland. I built this website to share a little bit about us and our values.  Each page addresses one question: Who? What? When? Where? and Why?  I divided each page into three sections. The first section, THE BIG PICTURE, will look at the large-scale story of God over all history, as revealed for us in the ancient Scriptures. The second section, THE PEOPLE OF ADVENT, will look at the purpose of our gathered congregation in this specific place and time. In the third section, THE PASTOR, I talk about my role and invite you to further conversation. I look forward to talking with you more.
